Lucy Dacus has shared a pair of new singles: “Bus Back to Richmond” and “More Than Friends.” Listen to both tracks below.
“More Than Friends” sets a serene scene around an accidental relationship that continues to simmer even as the song’s protagonist admits, “We don’t make sense from the outside.”
“Bus Back to Richmond” paints an even more melancholy picture of a romantic coupling that’s run its course, even as one side is desperately clinging to what’s already gone: “You said, ‘Please give me a chance’/ You didn’t know that I already had.”
The two new singles will also be released on limited-edition Vintage Bottle-colored 7-inch vinyl, with only 2,000 copies being pressed. Pre-order here.

The new singles follow Dacus’ cover of Lady Gaga’s “Abracadabra” from earlier this year, which came after her most recent full-length effort, Forever Is a Feeling, which arrived in March.
The singer-songwriter has also revealed that she’s updated the cover art for Forever Is a Feeling, to honor her original idea for the image. The new album cover shows the Will St. John painting photographed in medium format by Jon Henry. See it below.
