What counts as cheating depends on the couple. Every relationship draws its own lines. Some people think it’s cheating if their partner flirts, while others think it’s cheating if they so much as develop a crush.
But for one woman, the dealbreaker wasn’t a DM or her boyfriend hugging his cheating partner at a Coldplay concert. It was a lie—and a night out at a restaurant known for its waitresses’ uniforms.
TikTok user Gabrielle (@influencedbygabrielle) shared a now-viral video where she and her friends decided to investigate a hunch. The clip has more than 644,000 views.
“Come with us to catch my friend’s new bf who said he was home studying but his location was at Twin Peaks,” she wrote in the on-screen caption.
The video starts in a car. Gabrielle’s friend in the driver’s seat is clearly fired up, gesturing as she drives. From there, the group walks into a Twin Peaks restaurant. They order drinks and casually scan the room.
Then it happens. “He saw us,” reads the text on-screen as one of the women abruptly walks away. The camera cuts to the friend sitting alone at the bar later, visibly upset. Another clip shows what looks like her throwing a drink in someone’s direction—possibly the boyfriend.
The last scene flips back to Gabrielle in the car, looking smug. “Update: they got divorced,” she wrote.
Why Twin Peaks Was The Tipping Point
Sure, lying to your partner about where you are isn’t a great move in any relationship. But the fact that the boyfriend chose Twin Peaks might have made things worse.
The chain, often grouped with places like Hooters, is part of a genre brutishly called “breastaurants.” It’s known more for its outfits than its quality of food.
So while some might say it’s “just a restaurant,” for others, the setting adds a layer of disrespect, especially when it’s paired with a lie.
In Reddit threads debating whether going to these types of places counts as cheating, the consensus is usually no. Still, what counts as a dealbreaker is ultimately up to each couple.
Commenters Weigh In On The Breakup
Reactions to the TikTok were mixed. Some thought the boyfriend was in the wrong for lying. Others thought the woman overreacted.
“Bro is sitting at the bar with his boys,” one commenter wrote. “It seems like the controlling girlfriend is the problem here.”
Another person said, “It’s a dang restaurant y’all chill out.”
“Tbh just break up,” someone else added. “Like if he feels he’s gotta lie just to hang out with his friends. It’s over girl.”
One user was surprised. “Twin Peaks? Not even a strip joint?! TWIN PEAKS… Omg! Bro RUN!” they exclaimed.
