The first look at Brad Pitt reprising his role as Cliff Booth in The Adventures of Cliff Booth. The Adventures of Cliff Booth began production in California this week.
The Adventures of Cliff Booth, written by Quentin Tarantino, is set to be sequel — not a direct sequel, however, but more a “continuation” — to his 2019 film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, which starred Brad Pitt as stuntman Cliff Booth alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, Margot Robbie and more. Pitt’s Booth was the stunt-double for DiCaprio’s Rick Dalton, a C-tier Hollywood actor in the late 1960s.
The story of how the film came to fruition is as follows: Tarantino was writing a script for a cancelled film called The Movie Critic, which would’ve seemingly featured Cliff Booth as a character. The script, however, eventually turned into Cliff Booth story, with Tarantino then deciding to scrap the project. The acclaimed director still has not committed to a project for his 10th film.
Pitt, however, liked the script so much that he asked Tarantino if he could bring it to his friend David Fincher, whom he’s worked with on Seven, Fight Club, and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

Production on The Adventures of Cliff Booth began this week, leading to photos of Pitt reprising his role as his Oscar-winning character hitting the internet. They’re paparazzi photos, however, so we cannot embed them here — to see them, just click this link over to Twitter.
Pitt was most recently seen starring in the F1 movie, which hit theaters in late June and grossed over $510 million at the global box office. As for Fincher, he most recently directed 2023’s The Killer, which starred Michael Fassbender and was released on Netflix. He’s also set to direct the American spinoff of Squid Game starring Cate Blanchett.
Given that the film is currently in production, The Adventures of Cliff Booth will likely be released on Netflix in 2026.
