The North Carolina emo outfit previews their upcoming LP with an intimate love song, ahead of an extensive U.S. tour.

Kerosene Heights has announced their sophomore album Blame It On The Weather, due August 15 via SideOneDummy, and shared the record’s lead single, ‘New Tattoo.’ Smith wrote ‘New Tattoo’ just two weeks before the band headed into the studio, and it was recorded before ever being played together live. The result is an emotionally charged anthem built on lyrical intimacy and warm instrumental textures.

“‘New Tattoo’ made it onto the album at the very last minute. I wrote it 2 weeks before we left for the studio and we had never played it together prior to recording it. I got married this year and the song is about that. I’m asking to be a permanent part of you for the rest of your life, like a tattoo.”

The band will support the new album with an extensive tour, including dates with Dikembe, Michael Cera Palin, Swiss Army Wife, and Summerbruise, as well as a performance at The Fest. Tour stops include Brooklyn, Chicago, and Atlanta.

Blame It On The Weather arrives August 15 on SideOneDummy. ‘New Tattoo’ is available to stream now.
