YouTube star Jimmy ‘MrBeast’ Donaldson has responded to claims about his supposed earnings in 2025, after he was named Forbes’ top creator.
Over the years, content creation has been a genuine career path for some. Youngsters want to replicate their favorite YouTubers, Twitch streamers, and TikTokers and strike it big on the internet.
The idea of becoming a big-time internet star has only been made more enticing by some of the big figures that get thrown around for earnings. YouTube has long been seen as the best way to make money online, especially if you factor in sponsorships with viewing numbers.
MrBeast has led the way on the YouTube front for a few years, replacing Felix ‘PewDiePie’ Kjellberg as the most-subscribed-to creator back in late 2022. Naturally, he’s the one everyone tries to replicate, especially when it comes to money.
MrBeast downplays claims of $85m earnings for 2025
For the last few years, Donaldson has regularly been named as the highest-earning YouTuber, and that’s been no different with Forbes’ 2025 rankings.
Their list, which was released on June 16, has the YouTube superstar making an estimated $85 million over the last 12 months. However, he isn’t buying that figure.
“99.9% sure they just make up numbers. That’s just not even remotely accurate lol,” he posted on X (formerly Twitter) hours after the post went live.
The Forbes profile does highlight some of MrBeast’s success from the last year, including both Feastables and Beast Games.
Beast Games has been renewed by Amazon Prime Video for a second season, but Donaldson is also looking for outside investment too. He is aiming to raise “hundreds of millions” for his ventures, and that would value his company at around $5 billion. Yes, $5 billion.
