JILL Duggar has seemingly shaded her dad, Jim Bob, in a Father’s Day tribute where she praises her husband, Derick Dillard, and his late father.
Jill, 34, shares sons Israel, Samuel and Freddy with her husband Derick, 36.

On Father’s Day, Jill captioned a series of photos with her husband, their children, her dad and her late father-in-law.
She began of Derick, “Happy Father’s Day to my wonderful hubby @derickdillard. ILYSM and I’m so proud of you and I know your dad would be too. Watching you with our kids melts my heart and reminds me how blessed I am to get to do life with you by my side! Thanks for loving well and pointing us back to Jesus through all the ups and downs. xoxoxo.”
As for Derick’s late dad, she praised, “And to my Father-in-law, whom I never had the privilege of meeting this side of eternity… thank you. I get a little glimpse every day into the man you were just by being married to a wonderful son you helped raise.
“Thank you for teaching him to love Jesus, work hard, treat women with respect, be a man of integrity and not be afraid to show compassion and care to others. I am forever grateful and look forward to catching up in person one day on the other side!”

But when it came to her father, she said, “And happy Father’s Day to my own dad @duggarfam who always made time for us kids and kept things exciting and adventurous growing up, including the family bike rides, work days at the car lot, meals of cold butter beans with ketchup and BBQ tunafish sandwiches.”
Fans couldn’t help but notice the difference in the words, as they felt her memories were a diss to her dad.
One fan wrote, “It reads like perfect snark after all [Jim Bob] got was ‘work days at the car lot’ and ‘cold butter beans.’
“I never know if that type of shade is intentional with her of if this is her earnestly trying to find something nice to say about him, but it gave me a good laugh anyway.”
A second said, “The fact that Jill was more loving about her father-in-law whom she had never met than she is towards her own dad says a lot.
“Like I’ve said, it tells me that there still is tension between Jill and her dad/most of her siblings.”
A third wrote, “That is a pretty strange group of memories. You can tell she doesn’t like her dad that much anymore.”
A fourth said, “It’s shade.”
Another believes, “Oh I know what this is. Coming from a person who shades their own family online, but who has to do it in the most vague cryptic way possible, I salute her for her mastery of this extremely effective strike.”

ROCKY RELATIONSHIP
Jill has had a tumultuous relationship with her family for years.
In 2019, Derick told fans in an Instagram comment that he and Jill were not allowed at the family home without expressed permission from Jim Bob.
“Jill even had to ask JB permission to go over to the house to help her sister when she was in labor, because her sister wanted her help, but Jill couldn’t provide the assistance until we got it cleared with JB,” he said, referring to Jill helping out her sister Jessa.
Derick and Jill have criticized her parents for years since the comment, even accusing Jim Bob of withholding money from the family’s TLC reality show, 19 Kids and Counting, and spinoff, Counting On.
In 2023, Jill and Derick slammed her dad in documentary Shiny Happy People.
“After Israel’s birth we asked TLC to pay us enough just to cover what our out-of-pocket costs were for health insurance for Israel’s birth,” she said.
“They said they paid the family. Paid the family means we don’t get anything at that point. They said ‘Well, we paid your dad so take it up with him,'” Derick added.
“I never received any payout. No check. No cash. Nothing. For seven and a half years of my adult life, I was never paid,” Jill chimed in.
In Jill and Derick’s tell-all, Counting the Cost, she claimed Jim Bob tricked her into signing a contract with TLC on her wedding day- and only offered her $80,000 once pressured.

In response to her claims, Jim Bob and Michelle said in a statement, “We love all of our children very much. As with any family, few things are more painful than conflicts or problems among those you love. We’ve aimed to deal honorably with our children, our finances, and our other endeavors.
“While imperfect, it is our intent and desire to live a life that honors Christ. We do not believe the best way to resolve conflicts, facilitate forgiveness and reconciliation, or to communicate through difficulties is through the media or in a public forum so we will not comment.
“As the future unfolds, we will continue to love our family, pray for them, and enjoy every moment gifted to us to be parents and grandparents.”
Recently, Jill has slowly been communicating with her parents and attending family events.
