The Castellows are slowly gaining the recognition they deserve in the country music space. They recently joined Thomas Rhett for a surprise duet of ‘She Had Me At Heads Carolina’ and reminded everyone that they have the best harmonies of any group currently out on tour.
If you don’t know, know you know!
As country music continues to explode across the United States, and the globe, The Castellows are quietly becoming a mainstay within the genre. Some people out there might use them to drive clicks based only on their appearance but those people don’t actually care about the music. They don’t know ball. We are here to focus strictly on the latter! Their voices come together seamlessly, almost as if they’ve been doing this since birth. (Probably because they have…)
If this is your first introduction to The Castellows, welcome! Eleanor, Lily and Powell Balkcom moved to Nashville in 2023 to sign a record deal with Warner Music after they first went viral on TikTok and Instagram.
Ellie and Powell are two of three triplets. Ellie plays lead guitar. Powell is on banjo. Lily is about 18 months younger. She takes the lead vocals. Castellow is their great-grandmother’s maiden name.
I would recommend starting on ‘Hurricane’ or ‘Sober Sundays’ with Wyatt Flores and going from there.
The Castellows are currently on tour with Thomas Rhett. He brought them out in Pittsburgh for a surprise duet of ‘She Had Me At Heads Carolina,’ which I did not know he co-wrote with Cole Swindell.
I would be lying if I said that I love the trend of recycled songs in country music, but I would also be lying if I said it wasn’t a banger. And as much as I appreciate Swindell, Rhett and The Castellows did it better…
Ellie, Lily and Powell have the best harmonies in country music. They add an unmatched depth and vocal range to any song by and/or with any artist. Thomas Rhett and ‘Heads Carolina’ is the latest example!
