On Friday, June 13, Ringo Starr brought his current tour to New York’s Radio City Music Hall. During the concert, Starr and his touring band, Steve Lukather, Colin Hay, Warren Ham, Hamish Stuart, Gregg Bissonette, and Buck Johnson, took on the task of delivering selections from their repertoires, including Toto, Average White Band, Men at Work, and of course the host’s own contributions.
For Starr’s part, he leaned into his additions to the Beatles’ archive, on “Yellow Submarine,” “I Wanna Be Your Man,” and independent features of his catalog, “Photograph,” “It Don’t Come Easy” and the titletrack off his latest album, the country focused “Look Up.”
Before Ringo’s Radio City arrival, the artist spoke to Relix about his latest LP cycle. When asked about the public’s reception to the set, he said, “You like to do something that’s appreciated, and this album certainly has been appreciated. I can only thank all those fans who went to their computer and downloaded me.”
Photographer Bill Kelly attended the concert and shared his stills. See below.
