Streaming star Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel has revealed Kick’s clampdown on streamers who use viewbots, claiming they have “advanced” technology that limits how much money they can make.
Viewbotting has long been a problem in the streaming world. Some trolls have used fake viewers to try and get streamers into trouble, while some creators use it to just try and get themselves in front of others.
Platforms have tried to clamp down on viewbotters, handing out lengthy suspensions to those who have been found to be artificially inflating their viewership. Twitch has even added viewbotting as a reason for viewers to report streamers.
Over on Kick, using viewbots to inflate your viewership to make money might sound like a good idea, but according to xQc, they have some “really advanced” ways to shut you down.
xQc claims Kick has “really advanced” anti-view bot tech
The topic of viewbotting came up during the Canadian’s June 15 stream, as he revealed that he’d spoken with Kick CEO Eddie Craven about it.
“The anti-Kick bot s*it is really advanced, I’m telling you. When people bot, they know,” xQc told viewers.
“They don’t pay out bot amounts, so that doesn’t help you. They calculate internally, and I spoke with Eddie about this at length. He showed me everything. I’m telling you, the people that bot like crazy, their s*it is capped at a certain amount until it’s resolved. It’s actually insane.”
The Twitch and Kick star has been hot on potential viewbotters in the past, previously accusing Kai Cenat’s friends, Rakai and Reggie, of viewbotting to improve their own standings.
Cenat hit back at xQc over that accusation, saying it was “weird,” but the Canadian doubled down anyway. Yet, nothing ever came of it.
