Rising singer-songwriter and guitarist Emma Harner unveils a deeply moving new track with ‘False Alarm.’

Built around interwoven fingerpicked guitar lines and Harner’s airy, emotive vocals, ‘False Alarm’ is steeped in quiet vulnerability. The track explores the overwhelming experience of leaving home, as Harner reflects on her journey from Lincoln, Nebraska to Boston for college. Subtle rhythmic shifts and raw, diary-like lyrics combine to create an atmosphere of emotional depth and sincerity.

Harner explains:

“‘False Alarm’ is a song about homesickness. I wrote it after moving from Nebraska to Boston for college. I was homesick, overwhelmed by the sensory chaos of the city, and learning how to trust again.”

‘False Alarm’ sets the stage for Harner’s debut EP, slated to arrive later this year. With its emotional resonance and sonic precision, the single affirms her place among the most compelling young voices in indie folk today.
