KRIS Jenner has been ‘struggling’ to sell her family’s iconic Hidden Hills mansion as interested buyers complain the massive $13.5m price tag is ‘way too high,’ The U.S. Sun has learned.
The 9,000-square-foot home will be familiar to Keeping Up With the Kardashians fans as it was a staple of filming the reality show for over 11 years.
The Los Angeles valley abode includes the iconic black-and-white tiled foyer and dual staircases that were the centerpiece of most episodes of the long-running E! series.
Kris, 69, purchased the home for just $4m in 2010, three years after KUWTK debuted, but moved out in 2021 to live next door to daughter Khloe Kardashian, 40, in a gorgeous $20m mansion.
In the years since, the home has stayed in the family as it’s been reported that her son, Rob Kardashian, 38, has been residing there.
However, the Kardashians are finally bidding farewell to the place they called home for so many years as Kris officially put the Hidden Hills property on the market earlier this year.
The six-bedroom, eight-bathroom house was listed in February for $13.5m but has not yet sold, nor has there been any price reduction.
According to an insider, the house “hasn’t had any good enough offers.”
“People have complained it’s way overpriced for what it is. There has also been a lot of concern over wildfire danger and the lack of insurance available for that.
“The home is gorgeous, everyone agrees on that. But in order to get someone to bite, they’ll need to make the price lower,” the real estate source claimed.
Though it’s been five months with no bites, the 1.5 acre lot is still up for sale for the same $13.5m asking price.
LIFE OF ROB
For years, Rob had been quietly living in the lavish home, which was owned and paid for by his mother.
The Calabasas-area house is where he has raised his eight-year-old daughter Dream with his ex-fiancee, Blac Chyna, in recent years.
The Mediterranean estate is being marketed as a “piece of television history” and sits on a 1.3-acre lot designed for indoor-outdoor living.
The grand entrance with black and white tiled flooring is instantly recognizable to longtime Kardashian fans.
Nestled in a gated community, the property offers six spacious en-suite bedrooms and an office, along with large living and entertaining areas and a spacious kitchen.
According to records, it was first bought for $4 million in 2010, and Kris transferred the deed to the family’s longtime money manager, Lester Knispel, in 2015.
It was later reported that Rob had moved in.
Kris recently said of the home: “I’m so grateful we still have it in the family because it makes me really happy.”
All About Kris Jenner
Kris Jenner is the matriarch of the Kardashian-Jenner family, who rose to fame with her six children after starring on the E! reality series Keeping Up With the Kardashians. Here’s what Kris has been up to:
Kris was first married to the late Robert Kardashian, famously known as O.J. Simpson’s defense attorney in his 1995 murder trial.
They shared four children: daughters, Kourtney, Kim, and Khloe, and a son, Robert
The former couple were married from 1978 until 1991.
Following their divorce, Kris tied the knot with former Olympian, Bruce Jenner, who also appeared on KUWTK.
The pair shared two daughters, Kendall and Kylie.
They split in 2015, around the time that Bruce transitioned and changed her name to Caitlyn.
Kris met her current boyfriend, Corey Gamble, in August 2014, and they have been together ever since.
Kris manages her daughters’ widely-successful careers and they’ve continued their reality TV run with The Kardashians on Hulu, shortly after KUWTK ended.
Property records show a mortgage was taken out on the home on June 24, 2019 with JP Morgan Chase Bank for $5.25 million plus interest.
The borrower is listed as family money man Knispel, with the document reading, “Borrower has promised to pay this debt in regular Periodic Payments and to pay the debt in full not later than July 1, 2049.”
Rob often posts photos of parties at the home, including Dream’s Barbie-themed gathering in November 2021, with the entrance decorated with giant pink balloons.
For Christmas 2020, he also shared a series of photographs of the decorations at his home, including a giant tree in the entranceway.
In September of last year, The U.S. Sun reported Rob has been mainly living in a wing of Khloe’s huge home nearby, as the two have always been close, and she is now a single mom raising her two children.
Khloe’s home is on the same lot as Kris’ current home, making the tight-knit family closer than ever.
