Disney movies are supposed to be safe spaces for children to wish upon a star, let it go and watch genies do cool stuff. Nothing too bad can happen there — the handsome prince always likes you back, there’s always a happy ending and nobody dies who doesn’t deserve it (unless they gave birth to the protagonist).
But Disney movies have their dark sides. That’s especially true when they’re dealing with real animals. “I think Scar would have definitely mated with Sarabi and Nala,” user Marquis_de_Skiatook told r/AskReddit. “Think about it. Simba was gone for, like, three years. In lion prides, the lead male would breed with multiple lionesses to make sure his line is intact. Sarabi was the previous queen, and Nala (was) a prime choice as a young female. Scar for sure had ample opportunity to continue his line.”
They then asked, “What’s the most disturbing Disney movie theory?” and an incredible amount of disturbance followed.
