THE voice of Abuelita in Disney’s beloved film Coco has died at the age of 71 after a battle with cancer.

Beloved voice actress Renée Victor also found fame on Weeds as tributes continue to pour in for the TV and film icon.

Victor died peacefully surrounded by her family at her Sherman Oaks home in California on Friday night, her agency told Deadline.

Her cause of death was lymphoma – a form of cancer which damages the body’s immune system.

Her heartbroken daughters Raquel and Margo left a touching tribute to their mom which read: “Renee is perhaps best known as the voice of ‘Abuelita’ in Disney’s 2017 blockbuster Coco.

“Renee was loved by so many & had fans all over the world. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.”

She was also known for playing Lupita on Showtime’s hit Weeds.

Victor regularly appeared in both seasons one and two as well as having several returning roles in many of the remaining seasons.

The proud Texan also starred in a huge number of other shows.

Some of her earliest gigs included TV series’ such as Scarecrow and Mrs. King and Matlock.

She also had a recurring role on long-running show ER as Florina Lopez.

In another major job, Victor also lent her voice to the 1992 animated series The Addams Family.

Throughout her illustrious career, Victor also found fame in the world of films.

Her credits included The Doctor with William Hurt, as well asThe Apostle and A Night in Old Mexico, with the legend Robert Duvall.

Before she ever found global fame on the screen, Victor toured the world alongside her husband for a decade.

The pair were known as “Ray & Renee” as they travelled together performing between 1963 to 1973.

Their success even earned them the nickname “the Latin Sonny & Cher”.

Fans were quick to post their best memories of the voice actress online.

One said: “Such heartbreaking news. Renée Victor brought so much warmth and life to Abuelita in ‘Coco,’ and her presence will be dearly missed. Rest in peace.”

Another wrote: “Rest in peace, Renée Victor. Your iconic voice as Abuelita in ‘Coco’ will live on.”
