Actor Mohamed Karim chatted about starring in the Lionsgate film “Gunslingers.”
He has been described as Hollywood’s First Arab Cowboy and GQ Middle East’s “Man of the Year” in 2022.
How was your experience in “Gunslingers”?
It was great and I had an amazing time. Being in a Western film, something I’ve never done before, was the kind of opportunity I had been waiting for a long time. It’s a big deal for me to do a movie that not a lot of people have the chance to.
I was excited to take on this challenge of doing such a different type of role than I’m used to. I’m really grateful and so happy with the feedback I’ve gotten!
What did you love most about your character?
I loved that he stood up for his people and the community even though everyone came from different places. He was there for his friends.
When Stephen returned to town, he was there to help and support. He wasn’t afraid of the risks taken.
What do your plans for the future include?
I am always looking for what’s next and so far, I’ve gotten bigger with each movie.
I am always developing projects. I’m pretty excited about my upcoming action-packed film Dead End where I play the lead role of Nixon, a fearless car racer legend who must confront his demons when forced into one last drive.

Congrats on winning the “Best Actor” Award for “Facebook Romance”… How did that feel?
Feels great! It’s rewarding when you are being recognized and competing with extremely great movies and amazing talents from all over the world. The fact that I won this was surreal for me.
It pushed me to keep doing what I’m doing and go further! It gave me the confidence to keep grinding in Hollywood.
What does the word success mean to you?
Everything! This is what I live for, breathe for, and pray for. I’m hungry every day for more success!
Always looking for my next venture…I look at success everywhere I go, from experiences to who I surround myself with, etc.
What would you like to tell our readers about “Gunslingers”?
It was an amazing experience! It’s a great thing to stand up for your values and for your friends.
Solidarity is an important thing. Hoodo stood up and showed solidarity with his friends and defended them, almost costing him his life by getting shot and surviving.
Once I got shot everyone around me was trying to save my life, which was enduring. What comes around goes around!
