Hoda Kotb Talks Potential Daytime Talk Show Takeover

The former "Today" show host left her longtime role in January.

Hoda Kotb is shutting down rumors that she’s taking over a certain someone’s talk show anytime soon.

The former “Today” show host returned to her old stomping grounds on Wednesday, and tackled reports that she’s taking over Kelly Clarkson’s show head-on.

“If I ever came back to TV, do you know where the only place I would ever come back to?” Kotb said to hosts Savannah Guthrie and Craig Melvin.

“Right here ― this is the spot. There’s no place like home,” she shared.

“So the rumors are done?” Melvin asked Kotb.

“Delete, delete — not true!” Kotb answered.

According to a recent Page Six report, Clarkson was looking to leave her daytime talk show in order to spend more time with her family.

“Kelly’s number one priority is her children, and they always will be,” an anonymous source told the outlet in April. “The show is grueling. It’s a whole lot of work, and I hear that Kelly would like to spend more time down South.”

Kotb revealed in a People magazine feature that since stepping back from the “Today” show in January, she’s been able to spend even more time with her daughters.

“It’s really cool to just realize that there’s so much more to life,” she told the outlet. “I wasn’t able to bear witness to my kids’ daily lives because of what I was doing. I got to see Haley sing ‘What a Wonderful World’ at 9:15 a.m. — I would have missed that. I used to think life was the big things, but it really is all the stuff that happens in between.”
