Michael Clifford has released a new collaboration with Waterparks‘ frontman Awsten Knight, ‘Give Me A Break!’.
Taken from the 5 Seconds Of Summer member’s upcoming debut solo album ‘Sidequest’, Clifford told us about how this track came together in his recent Rock Sound cover feature.
He said “We’ve known each other for years. The way it came out, it was so serendipitous. Awsten became the person I would go and whinge about the internet to. He would be my sounding board for that kind of energy, and then it evolved into a song that plays within that, getting a little more specific lyrically as well. When we were talking about doing that song together, I was thinking of the song ‘Guilty Conscience’ by Eminem and Dr Dre. I know that sounds absolutely insane, but we were doing something that I don’t think people would have heard before. He was instantly 100% in.”
