When it comes to comfort, Whoopi Goldberg doesn’t play any games.
During the “Hot Topics” segment on “The View” Tuesday, Goldberg brought up an episode of the podcast “Reasonably Shady,” hosted by “The Real Housewives of Potomac” stars Gizelle Bryant and Robyn Dixon. On the podcast, the hosts debated the proper way to clasp a brassiere — one attested to fastening from the back, while the other confessed to doing it from the front.
The topic left the “View” panel divided, with each co-host offering her own method of fastening their undergarments.
Co-host Sunny Hostin shared that she clasps her bra from the back, while Alyssa Farah Griffin declared front-clasping is “the only way,” citing a lack of flexibility for any other option. The panel then went into various methodologies for putting on bras — which prompted co-host Joy Behar to interject into the spirited demonstration.
“You know what I feel like doing right now? I feel like letting these girls loose,” Behar joked after warning the audience to “back up” for what she was about to hypothetically unleash.
Hostin then turned to Goldberg, who had been notably quiet throughout the entire exchange, and asked for her opinion.

Behar jumped in, answering for her: “She doesn’t wear one.” She went on to say that Goldberg had “liberated those girls a long time ago.”
“I have not worn a bra in 50 years,” Goldberg revealed.
At that point, Hostin admitted she considered the garments to be “torture devices,” prompting Goldberg to agree that bras are “too uncomfortable” and that she doesn’t “mind if they hit the floor.”
