North Carolina emo outfit Kerosene Heights has unveiled their latest single, ‘Waste My Time,’ marking their first release since signing with SideOneDummy Records.

‘Waste My Time’ showcases a leap forward in the band’s sonic clarity and emotional intensity. Produced by Billy Mannino (Oso Oso, Prince Daddy & Hyena) at Two Worlds Studio in Queens, the track taps into the disconnection that can come from a life consumed by music. It’s a contemplative and vulnerable entry in the band’s catalog—one that balances their emotive roots with a new level of precision and polish.

Smith says of the track:

“‘Waste My Time’ is about people drifting apart. In my case, it’s about how music can be so consuming that I have trouble maintaining friendships that aren’t directly tied to it. On tour, I feel like I have friends but at home, I spend most of my time by myself. “Will you waste my time?” is me begging someone to hang out and do something that my music-sided brain would view as a waste of time.”

Following the release of their 2023 debut LP Southeast of Somewhere and last year’s transitional Leaving EP, ‘Waste My Time’ opens a new chapter for the band—one underscored by lineup changes, creative growth, and now, a new label home.
