Dan Spilo, a manager and producer at Industry Entertainment, has been dismissed by Alan Ritchson as his manager due to his behavior on the set of his new film Runner. Spilo was reportedly fired for cause.
According to reports, Dan Spilo — who was previously removed Survivor: Island of the Idols in 2019 for alleged inappropriate behavior (two female contestants said he made them uncomfortable with his “touchy-feely manner”, making him the first-ever contestant removed from the show) — was dismissed from the set of Runner and fired as Alan Ritchson’s manager for inappropriate behavior on-set that included bullying and yelling at crew.
Ritchson is starring in Runner alongside Owen Wilson. The film is being directed by Scott Waugh, with additional stars including Rodrigo Santoro, Leila George, Adriana Barraza, Sullivan Stapleton, Peta Sergeant, and Geraldine Hakewill.
“Sources close to the producer conceded to a ‘heated exchange’ on set. Still, they painted a different picture of events, noting that things quickly got awkward in the aftermath of the exchange, with Spilo choosing to leave set of his own accord, recognizing what was best for the project.”
“Emotions were high for Spilo, we’re told, as he’d recently been dealing with the health challenges of a family member in Israel, which is where he set off for as soon as he was dismissed from Runner.” [via Deadline]
Runner is just one of many upcoming films that the Reacher star has on his slate alongside The Man with the Bag, Playdate, Motor City, and War Machine. Spilo is credited as a producer on both Motor City and Playdate.
