If a $4 million Lamborghini yacht sinks and there’s nobody there to film it for social media, did it really sink? Fortunately, we will never have to ponder that philosophical question because the $4 million Lamborghini yacht that sank in Miami over Formula 1 weekend had 30 influencers there in their swimsuits to capture the sad experience and put it on TikTok.

The U.S. Coast Guard was called to rescue the boaters off Miami Beach over the weekend, with the incident occurring on May 3rd. Videos of the boat going down and the people onboard being rescued by the USCG went viral across TikTok, X, and Instagram.

The USCG shared photos of their rescue operation which took place off Monument Island. Local news reported the vessel was a 63-foot Lamborghini Tecnomar yacht which has a price tag of around $4.4 million and can sell for over $5 million. This particular model can reach a top speed of 63 knots (72.4mph) and has 5 guest rooms throughout. USCG’s pictures are worth a thousand words:

One of the influencers onboard the Lamborghini yacht shared this video of the passengers being rescued as the boat sank in the waters off Miami Beach:

Another video from a passenger captured what it was like from start to finish:

This passenger shared a video, claiming it was the ‘one time’ they opted to get on a boat… That seems hard to believe for anyone living in Miami where boating is a huge part of life:

One person driving by in another boat captured the sad scene as the $4+ million Lamborghini yacht was swallowed by into Davy Jones’ locker… For now, at least. There’s a 100% chance this yacht will be salvaged and repaired.

According to officials, nobody onboard the sinking yacht was injured and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is investigating into what led to the yacht’s sinking, according to the Miami Herald.

Miami Beach, Miami, and the surrounding area was booming over the weekend with the Formula 1 Grand Prix in town at the Hard Rock Stadium. McLaren-Mercedes took the top two spots in the race with Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris finishing 1-2 in Miami.
