We aren’t even halfway through 2025 but I am pretty sure that Sinners will be one of the best films this year. Ryan Coolger’s masterful take on the vampire genre blends Black Southern culture, Hoodoo, and the exploration of ancestral ties and religion’s relationship with music is a sight to behold on the big screen. The film continues to create buzz among consumers and critics alike, and further cements Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan as one of the greatest creative duos in existence. Coogler crafted Sinners for an IMAX experience and many fans saw it on that really, really big screen. Now, Sinners will get a special IMAX run in 9 theaters across North America.
According to a press release, Sinners will play in these theaters from May 15 to May 21. Tickets are currently on sale, so you’ll want to snap them up now if you are interested. Here are the theaters that will show Sinners in IMAX 70mm for limited re-release screenings:
- CityWalk Stadium 19 + Imax (Los Angeles)
- Irvine Spectrum and Imax (Irvine)
- Lincoln Square 13 + Imax (New York)
- Metreon 16 + Imax (San Francisco)
- Indiana State Museum (Indianapolis)
- Arizona Mills IMAX (Phoenix)
- Autonation Imax (Ft. Lauderdale)
- Webb Chapel Imax (Dallas)
- Colossus Imax (Toronto)
“Audiences have spoken and we listened. If ever a film needed to be experienced in this incredible larger-than-life format, it’s Sinners,” Warner Bros. Pictures President of Global Distribution Jeff Goldstein said in a press release. “Ryan has delivered a film that has been embraced by fans who appreciate the craftsmanship that goes into creating a film for this screen-filling format and we wanted to give everyone the opportunity to see it — or see it again — in 70mm IMAX.”
Limited cities means that “everyone” won’t get to see Sinners in IMAX, though. But perhaps there will be more widespread releases in the near future. Personally, I am ready to own the film when they drop physical releases. Gimme all the Steelbooks and such, y’all.
