IShowSpeed offered $2m for “quick little cameo” in DDG video

Streaming star IShowSpeed has been offered $2 million by DDG for a “quick little cameo” in his next music video, as he doesn’t want to send gifted memberships on YouTube.

Over the last few years, IShowSpeed has risen up to become one of the biggest streamers on the internet. Speed, real name Darren Watkins, has started linking up with celebrities whenever he travels, even appearing at the annual Ballon d’Or awards event to crown the best football player in the world.

As he’s become a big name, Speed could easily demand big fees for his appearances on stream. His recent trip to China thrust him into a conversation about being paid to promote the country. Yet, his manager shut that claim down, noting that he might not even break even on it.

However, he has now got an offer to make some serious money for less than an hour’s work, and it’s come from fellow streaming star DDG.

The idea came up during DDG’s April 29 stream, as the streamer and musican noted that he would like to have Speed involved in his next music video.

“How much you going to charge me, Speed? I know YouTube ain’t got subs, I know they got members. I come in roughly around like $2 million. $2 million, three hours shoot,” he said, saying Speed wouldn’t even have to work for an hour.

“Quick little cameo, it’ll take 40 minutes of your time. You let me know, bro.”

Some fans suggested that getting $2 million to be in a video is “crazy” and that Speed might do it “for free” if asked directly.

The YouTube streamer has been in the UK to end in April, linking up with KSI for a number of YouTube videos, as well as making an appearance at Baller League.

He has promised fans a streaming tour of Africa, as well as a return to Peru, before the year is out.
