An Ohio middle school teacher is facing criminal trespassing charges after allegedly following a student home to confront her over a missing homework assignment.
William Hilt, a teacher at Hull Prairie Intermediate School in Perrysburg, Ohio, reportedly followed a female student’s school bus all the way to her home in March 2025.
One of her parents came home from work during Hilt’s confrontation with the student and asked him about the reason for his visit — which he said was to ensure she’d completed her homework.
According to Hilt, he’d promised her class a pizza party if everyone finished their homework, and was making sure she’d done her part so the party could happen.

In an email sent to the school the next day, the student’s parents wrote that they weren’t notified that Hilt would be visiting their home and found the situation “really weird” and “concerning.”
As per reports from Action 13 News, the school placed Hilt on administrative leave before the next school day, and he remains on leave at the time of writing.
The teacher appeared in court on April 1, 2025 on charges of criminal trespassing, to which he pleaded ‘not guilty.’ He is set to remain on leave pending the outcome of an investigation from the district court.
“The well-being of our students remains our highest priority, and we are fully cooperating with law enforcement authorities,” Perrysburg Schools said in a statement. “Perrysburg Schools is committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for all students.
“Staff members are expected to uphold professional boundaries and exercise sound judgment in accordance with their legal, professional, and ethical responsibilities. When a staff member’s actions do not align with these standards, the district will take action.”
This is just the latest wild moment to happen at a school after a 33-yaer-old Bronx teacher went viral for mocking the Department of Education, despite being fired for texting one of her students over 28,000 times.
