Martha Stewart has lived a life that most people can only dream of. The 83-year-old rose to fame in the 1980s with her cookbook, Entertaining, and then parlayed that into several successful television shows, becoming a household celebrity in the United States. But that all changed in 2004 when Stewart when to prison for five months on charges of insider trading.

These days, however, Stewart’s prison stay is all part of her lore as she’s back in the public eye and known as much for being friendly with Snoop Dogg as she is for her cookbooks. Earlier this week, Stewart was a guest on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” alongside chef José Andrés. During the appearance, she made an almost impossible-to-believe admission that left both Clarkson and Andres stunned.

Martha Stewart Says That She Has Never Ordered Food For Delivery In Her Life

“You want to know a secret?” Stewart asked. “I have never ordered (food) in.”

Yes, Martha Stewart claims that she has never once ordered food to a house, apartment, hotel, or whatever it is. Clarkson, seemingly in disbelief (and also a bit of anger?) pushed back. I mean, surely Stewart has ordered a pizza at some point in her life. I don’t care if you’re Martha Stewart, you had to have ordered food in at some point?

“Are you kidding me?” Clarkson asked.

“My daughter will vouch for me,” Stewart said.

“You have never been like, ‘It’s a Taco Bell night, we’re just doing it,” a still perturbed Clarkson responded.

Even Andrés, who is one of the most famous chefs on the planet these days, thought that her assertion was downright insane.

“Never ordered in,” Stewart followed up, stating that she’d rather skip the meal or go out. “And so I will go out, or I will not eat.”

Andrés then issued a challenge to the audience.

“OK, people of America,” he began “If you have a photo of Martha Stewart ordering in…”

“Holding a to-go bag!” Clarkson added.

“We demand an investigation!” Andrés said, “She’s so pure!”

“Pure” is certainly one word you could use. But I don’t know if I can trust someone who has never said “f-ck it, we’re ordering delivery.” That is not purity, that is a sickness.
