The season finale of the CBS series NCIS: Origins just ended on a huge cliffhanger and the showrunner is speaking out to tease what is to come in season two.
Thankfully, CBS has already confirmed that NCIS: Origins is renewed for a second season, so we know that we’ll get answers as to what just happened. But, that still means we’ll be waiting several months.

Mariel Molino‘s Lala was on her way to tell Gibbs (Austin Stowell) some good news, but she got into a car accident while veering out of the way of a young girl who ran into the road.
The season ended with Lala bleeding and looking lifeless.
Gibbs says through the narration, “This is a story I don’t tell. I can’t find the words. But it never stops running through my head — the story of her.”
Is Lala alive or dead on NCIS: Origins?!
Co-creator David J. North won’t confirm or deny anything about Lala’s future.
“We can’t promise that [Lala is alive] but we can promise that you’ll get an answer if you come back in season 2,” he told Us Weekly. “Going into this, we wanted to take big swings. Mariel knew going into this that we were going to take big swings and she was on board for whatever was the best way to make the audience feel something in a truthful way. That’s what we’re doing.”
North told The Wrap, “We knew going into this show that we wanted to take big swings … and there’s more to the story. As for whether Lala is dead, everybody will need to tune in to Season 2… If this is the end of Lala, we remember the last things we said to people, and then we have to live with that.”
Mariel spoke to TVLine and was asked what she’ll miss most about the show, assuming she won’t be back that is.
“Awwww, just our crew. Our crew and our cast, we get along so well. I miss seeing all the familiar faces every morning, joking around, doing this show that we love to do so much — and cracking up with Caleb [Foote, who plays Randy], who always makes me break in every scene that I do with him!” she said. “I mean, I feel really lucky. I really like these guys, I like my team, I really like my character. So, I do miss them, but it’s definitely nice to have a little break as well.”
A former NCIS character made an appearance in the season finale episode!
