Your new favourite band are back with another belter.
Young Culture have returned with their first new music of 2022.
And it’s another piece of straight-up wonderfulness.
The track is called ‘Tattoo’ and uses the idea of getting something etched into your skin to describe how it feels to be affected by someone permanently.
It’s all wrapped up in a brilliantly sunny instrumental, the sort that the band produce like its second nature, and further demonstrates just what incredible songwriters they are.
Basically, this is a band you should believe in.
Vocalist Alex Magnan had this to say:
“It’s a song about anybody that scarred you in a permanent way. People can make impressions on your life and it can be permanent, whether that’s someone you’re in love with or a friend or something.”
And guitarist Gabe Pietrafesa added:
“We just kept thinking about how tattoos share similarities with relationships. Romantic or not, positive or negative, long or short, they’re with you forever. And yeah, you can cover up a tattoo or forget someone existed, but each tattoo has a story to tell, just like every relationship. But if I’m being honest, there are some I regret, and I guess that’s kinda what this song is talking about.”
Let’s go:
It’s the first new music from the band since they released their EP ‘Godspeed’ last year.
Here’s ‘Hum’ from that very EP:
