Taco Bell is bringing back its fan-favorite crispy chicken nuggets after their short stint on the menu in 2024 — and foodies will be delighted to learn that there’s much more in store.
Taco Bell might be known for its status as a Mexican-inspired fast-food joint, but they famously brought on an American classic, crispy chicken nuggets, in 2024.
The unexpected addition sparked a wide variety of reactions online, many of which were in the vein of “shut up and take my money.” It’s not hard to see why: fast-food lovers couldn’t get enough of the crispy nuggets, which are marinated in jalapeno buttermilk and coated in tortilla chips.
They weren’t on the menu for long… but fans shouldn’t worry, as the company’s next initiative aims to bring crispy chicken back for the long-haul.
Taco Bell is bringing back crispy chicken nuggets with more planned
Taco Bell’s Chief Marketing Officer, Taylor Montgomery, revealed in an April 17 press release that the chain plans brought the nuggets back to their menu specifically because they were such a big hit with diners. In fact, they completely sold out in less than a week back in December 2024.
“The demand for our nuggets was off the charts, which is why we’re looking at making crispy chicken permanent to give our fans what they are telling us they want,” Montgomery said.
“We know we’re not the usual name in crispy chicken, but our nuggets speak for themselves — they’re bold, different, and unmistakably Taco Bell,” he added.
Foodies can order nuggets a la carte or as part of a meal.
The nuggets officially came back to the menu on April 24, 2025, and are part of the company’s broader strategy to create a permanent item featuring the crispy chicken in 2026.

- 5-piece nugget combo + 1 dipping sauce: $5.99
- 10-piece nugget combo + 2 dipping sauces: $8.99
This is just the latest viral item to make a comeback on Taco Bell’s menu after the chain reintroduced the giant Cheez-It that first made waves in May 2024.
