Could Spider-Man actually beat Superman in a fight? It’s a question Marvel and DC fans have debated for years and a Russian MMA promotion has the answer.
A fight between DC and Marvel characters isn’t something we’ll likely ever see on the big screen, but Russia’s Epic Fighting Championship was able to make this fan fiction a reality.
Superman is one of the most OP superheroes in existence with more abilities than we could possibly name, whereas Marvel’s Spider-Man can do everything that a spider can, including spinning webs of any size, and catching thieves, just like flies.
That being said, the Man of Steel is certainly the more powerful of the two on paper, but the web-slinger has been known to have a trick or two up his sleeve and that’s exactly what we saw in a viral MMA fight between the two.
Spider-Man defeats Superman in must-see MMA battle
Highlights from the bout out of Russia was posted to X by Happy Punch and started going viral, amassing over 1M views.
The first round of the fight saw neither hero get much of an advantage with both men struggling to land any solid blows, but Spidey did manage to connect with a backfist in the closing moments.
Things got way stranger in round two when Skeletor got into the cage (yes, you read the right) and started trying to battle both men, resulting in a brief team-up between the combatants.
Once Skeletor was dealt with, the two newspaper employees continued their epic battle and Spider-Man was able to get the upper hand, sending the Kryptonian to the floor with punches and seconds later, finished him off with a huge right hand for the KO victory.
Although this was one of the weirdest fights we’ve ever seen, this amusingly wasn’t the first time we’ve encountered a melee between comic book icons.
In a brouhaha from 2023, a street fight between Mario, Spider-Man, Black Panther, and others went viral on social media after a dispute between costumed employees at a tourist attraction in Brazil.
Earlier in 2025, a different man dressed as the Marvel hero was arrested for stealing $10K worth of Pokemon and other trading cards.
