Did Big AJ from TikTok die? Costco Guys rumor debunked

Rumors that Andrew ‘A.J.’ Befumo Jr, also known as one of the viral Costco Guys, died have made their way around social media – but is it true?

Back in 2024, AJ and his son, Big Justice, went viral on TikTok with videos about their trips to their favorite place – Costco.

While at the popular wholesale store, AJ and Big Justice film videos showing themselves trying the various food samples around the store as well as items from the food court like the famous chicken bake and $1.50 hotdog.

In April 2025, rumors that AJ died made their way around social media after a TikToker shared a video with a fake tweet from the father’s X account. As of writing, it’s been viewed over 6.5M times and fans have flocked to the comments to share their thoughts.

“Big AJ just passed away,” said BenzyNews on TikTok. In the clip, he shows a post from AJ Befumo’s Twitter/X account detailing his alleged death.

“Big AJ (Eric Justice Befumo) has just been found passed away this morning in his home,” read the tweet. “…As of now there are no guranteed causes of his passing however the likely reason for this was because of Eric’s profound use of steroids.”

Did AJ Befumo die?

The Costco Family has not made a statement debunking the rumors directly, but the tweet shown in the viral TikTok does not exist on AJ Befumo’s Twitter/X account.

The alleged post also has a few errors that imply the news has been fabricated. The biggest issue with the post is that it says AJ’s first name is Eric when it’s widely known that it’s actually Andrew.

Also, the TikTok account regularly posts videos claiming that many famous people have died, including the likes of The Rizzler, TommyInnit, IShowSpeed, and more. BenzyNews’ bio also explicitly states that everything posted on the page is satire.
