THUNDERBOLTS* Final Trailer Puts Florence Pugh’s Yelena on a Path to Redemption

Earth’s mightiest heroes are no longer around to save the world against its greatest threats. So instead of the Avengers an unlikely team of forgotten, rejected, and disgraced super people will try to answer the hero bell in Thunderbolts*. But Thunderbolts* final trailer shows that they need this responsibility as much as everyone needs them.

The last promo for Thunderbolts* ahead of its arrival in theaters focuses on Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova. We see her struggle with her past, the loss of her sister, the very idea of being a superhero, and whether or not she has it in her to become the person Natasha was.

This trailer for Thunderbolts* also gives us our best look yet at the Void, the place where Lewis Pullman’s powerful Sentry is vanishing people to. The fact he doesn’t seem to be killing all those innocents people, just transporting them to another dimension of emptiness, means they can come back. They’ll just need the Thunderbolts, led by Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes, to save them. Should be easy. Totally easy. They got this.

The film also stars David Harbour as red Guardian. Wyatt Russell returns as US Agent (Wyatt Russell). Hannah John-Kamen is back as Ghost. Olga Kurylenko returns as Taskmaster. And Julia Louis-Dreyfus is once again Valentina “Don’t Call Her Val” Allegra de Fontaine.

Those are a whole lot of characters with red in their own ledger. Will all of them be able to wipe them out? Will this team of non-heroes be able to do what the Avengers once did and save New York City from total annihilation by a powerful being intent on its destruction? That’s the only thing we don’t seem to know about their fates just yet.

We know when we’ll find out, thought. Thunderbolts* comes to theaters on May 2. Tickets are already on sale.
