Turnstile have announced their new album, the highly anticipated follow-up to their acclaimed 2021 LP, GLOW ON. The Baltimore hardcore heroes will release their fourth album, NEVER ENOUGH, on June 6th, and are previewing the record with the title track and its accompanying music video.
The single “Never Enough” begins with an ambient intro before kicking in at just over a minute with a grungy guitar riff providing the soundtrack to singer Brendan Yates’ echoey vocals. Overall, the song falls on the more melodic spectrum of Turnstile’s discography, revisiting some of the sonics heard on GLOW ON.
The album was recorded in Los Angeles and Baltimore, and was produced by Yates. The music video for “Never Enough” was co-directed by Yates and guitarist Pat McCrory.
NEVER ENOUGH marks Turnstile’s first album with new guitarist Meg Mills. The rest of the band is rounded out by Yates, McCrory, bassist Franz Lyons, and drummer Daniel Fang.
Turnstile earned high praise for 2021’s GLOW ON, earning multiple Grammy nominations and being named Consequence‘s Heavy Band of the Year. The LP’s single “Mystery” took the No. 1 spot on our list of the Best Metal & Hard Rock Songs of 2021.
