Is there drama unfolding behind-the-scenes at Beyond the Gates?
It was recently announced that Maurice Johnson, who play’s Nicole’s husband Ted on the series, is being replaced by Keith D. Robinson on the new CBS soap series.
Following rumors online that Maurice was let go from the show due to not getting along with Nicole actress Daphnée Duplaix, and/or that the executives were unhappy with his performance on the show, the actor spoke out himself.

“From the horse’s mouth… neither are true, so whoever [the writer of the story] is didn’t get this from CBS or my co-star. Please don’t spread BS that someone pulled out of the air,” he said in response to the rumors, via Soaps.com.
At the same time, Maurice spoke out on social media amid all the chatter about his departure.
“Sorry #BeyondTheGates fans. You’ll have about 30+ more episodes to see if Dr. Ted ever goes shirtless 😜 I’ll be back on your screen on Thursday! Thanks for the love and blowing the internet up over the weekend about ya boy! #MauriceJohnson #TeamTed #AnnouncementSoon,” he wrote.
