Promoting your music by using TikTok influencers is a great way to get your music heard. But how do you find TikTok influencers who fit the vibe of your music?
Chartmetric makes it easy to home in on several different aspects of your music analytics. Just like finding the right playlist curators to pitch to, Chartmetric can help you pinpoint TikTok creators. These creators can help you expand your creative influence by featuring your music in their short-form videos. TikTok has become the beating heart of music discovery, so getting your music heard there is becoming a major stepping stone for independent artists.
For example, TikTok has always been a clear priority for Brittany Barnes, indie band Silver Cup’s manager. “In January 2022, I noticed Silver Cup was plateauing in both streaming and engagement on socials. I decided to create a ’30 day challenge’ for them where everyday, the band did specific tasks to help their social media engagement that would transfer over to their streaming,” Barnes tells Digital Music News.
“I tracked the entire challenge with Chartmetric and at the end of 30 days, I was able to find the specific moments and actions we took to significantly help their engagement,” Barnes continues. “For example, between February and march, we had our highest streaming day ever (6.2K+ streams), bumped up our Spotify followers 10% to 8.3K, and our Spotify Monthly Listeners 127% to 28K+! We even saw an almost 20% increase in our Instagram followership to 21K+.”
“Being able to compare our TikTok activity alongside our Spotify and Instagram data on Chartmetric, we were able to find what created the various peaks. I would not have been able to efficiently track the challenge without Chartmetric’s data,” Barnes concludes.
So let’s take a look at Silver Cup’s artist profile and see how Chartmetric helps you find TikTok influencers to work with in promotion deals.

We can also drill down into how many video views, likes, comments, and engaged followers the content generated using the music clip.
3. Don’t have your music on TikTok yet? You can still find TikTok influencers.
Our example band Silver Cup has plenty of TikTok data, so we can see which influencers are using their tracks in their short-form video content. But what if you don’t have your music available on TikTok? Chartmetric allows you to benchmark yourself against similar artists using the ‘Neighboring Artists’ Chartmetric feature.
4. Let’s peek at the ‘Social & Streaming Stats’ tab.
Scroll down to the ‘Neighboring Artists’ section of the Silver Cup profile. Here you can see artists with similar Instagram followers, Chartmetric Score, Spotify monthly listeners, YouTube daily video views, and many other social metrics. This data will help you find similar artists who may be active on TikTok so you can see which influencers are promoting their music.
To find Neighboring Artists with active TikTok profiles, click on the ‘Social media’ tab in the top right corner. Then scroll to the right to see which artists have TikTok data in the ‘Views of Top Videos’ section. Let’s click on a neighboring artist to Silver Cup.
5. Click on SACHA’s Artist Page and then the ‘TikTok’ tab.
Scroll down to the TikTok Top Influencers section of SACHA’s Artist profile, and you can see influencers who are likely to like Silver Cup’s music. Sorting through data in this way can help you narrow down which TikTok influencers may be worth collaborating with to help your music get heard on the platform.
Once you’ve found the right TikTok influencers for your music, it’s all up to you how you want to run your campaign. The cool thing with TikTok is a high follower count isn’t everything. So, don’t just throw all of your eggs in the big-time influencer’s basket and call it a day. Check out engagement rates and consider how micro- or even nano-influencers with high engagement rates can help your track blow up.
