YouTube star MrBeast is taking his philanthropic goals to the next level, revealing that he plans on helping save as many West African kids as possible from child labor.
Jimmy ‘MrBeast‘ Donaldson might be known as the most-subscribed creator on YouTube with a reported net worth of $700 million — but aside from funding his viral videos, he also puts his cash toward good causes.
MrBeast even created a second channel to promote his very own charity called Beast Philanthropy, which helps feed his local communities in North Carolina, as well as fund massive projects like paying for patients’ cataract surgeries, building homes for unhoused people in Jamaica, and even cleaning the oceans of trash.
Now, MrBeast is taking on an even bigger endeavor — one that was seemingly inspired by his foray into the chocolate business with his Feastables candy bar line.

MrBeast embarks on year-long plan to end West Africa child labor
On March 20, Donaldson penned a tweet revealing that he’s been giving out free breakfasts at schools across West Africa to help children get out of working on cocoa farms and into schools.
According to the YouTube star, attendance at one of these schools has risen 10% in the first week, as students are more likely to go to school if they know they’ll get fed.
“To help get kids out of child labor on cocoa farms in west Africa we started giving away free breakfast at schools (kids are more likely to go if they know they will be fed), and one school’s attendance is already up 10% in the first week,” he wrote.
That’s not all; Donaldson went on to claim that he’s “probably 2 to 3 thousand hours” into educating himself on how to end child labor in West Africa, saying he’s surrounded himself with the “greatest minds” on the topic and feels like he “knows more about child labor in Africa than YouTube now.”
In addition, the YouTuber says he wants to focus on this goal for the next twelve months, hoping to bring his audience of 375 million subscribers along for the ride.
“I fear if someone with my influence can’t fix this, no one can,” he said. “I’m dedicated to this mission.”
According to the Bureau of International Labor Affairs, there are 1.56 million children involved in the production of cocoa in Ghana and the Ivory Coast, exposed to hazardous chemicals, burning fields, lifting heavy loads and using sharp tools.
While MrBeast sets big goals in West Africa, he’s also preparing for Season 2 of his Beast Games show on Amazon Prime, the first season of which broke over 40 Guinness World Records.
