Swans have announced a 2025 North American tour ahead of their forthcoming 17th album, Birthing, out May 30th.
The late-summer/early-fall trek kicks off September 4th in Philadelphia and runs through October 7th in Brooklyn with support from the duo Little Annie and Paul Wallfisch. The tour is anchored by a three-night stand at the Lodge Room in Los Angeles (September 15th through the 17th), followed by a two-night stand at Great American Music Hall in San Francisco (September 20th and 21st).
A Live Nation ticket pre-sale for the Boston date (October 6th) begins Wednesday (March 19th) at 10 a.m. local time using the code FUNKY. General ticket sales for other select dates start Friday (March 21st) at noon ET via Ticketmaster. You can also find ticket info via local venues.
Swans’ forthcoming album Birthing was recorded and produced in Berlin over the past two years with the band’s mastermind Michael Gira at the helm.
The LP features a large list of contributors, including regular collaborators Kristof Hahn, Phil Puleo, Jennifer Gira, Dana Schechter, and Larry Mullens. Gira has stated that Birthing will be the last album “in this mode” of Swans, with subsequent releases and tours featuring a more pared-down format.
