Controversial YouTuber Colleen Ballinger has returned to the platform, after announcing her hiatus just two weeks ago.
On February 27, popular YouTuber and television personality Colleen Ballinger announced a temporary break from content creation, citing the need to “heal in a million different ways.”
But the hiatus, which mainly affected her vlogging on her Colleen Vlogs channel, was short-lived. On March 10, just two weeks later, she uploaded a new 16-minute vlog titled “I’M BAAAAACK!”
In the video, Ballinger opened up about health issues that contributed to her absence, revealing that she had been hospitalized. “I thought I would only stop vlogging for a few days, maybe a week tops. But then, my body broke, and the sun just came back,” she shared.
“The sun was like, ‘Oh, we’re talking about how you got really hurt and went to the hospital? I’m in. I wanna hear about this tea.’ I’ll save that story for another day.”
She elaborated further, explaining that physical pain had made her unable to work or return to the internet as quickly as she had planned.
“That prevented me from editing anymore,” she shared. “When I thought I was gonna come back to the internet, I actually couldn’t come back to the internet because I couldn’t work, and I was in pain.”
Colleen Ballinger’s return sparks backlash
News of Ballinger’s comeback quickly spread, with one popular Reddit post titled “I have some bad news for everyone…”
“We’ll never be truly free of her,” one person wrote, while another pleaded, “Can we please stop giving her attention?”
“She’s lost all credibility and respect amongst almost everybody in the YouTube community for her past actions, and it seems she’ll never live them down,” a third commented.
Ballinger continues to face significant backlash due to grooming allegations that surfaced in 2023, which led to a loss of 190,000 subscribers and a Broadway role getting canceled.
At the time, she infamously addressed the allegations in a video by singing about “toxic gossip” while playing a ukulele.
