Rapper Playboy Carti told Kai Cenat that he wants to do more stuff with streamers after saying his stream with Adin Ross was a little “awkward.”
On March 13, Playboy Carti teased that his long-awaited album – I Am Music – would finally be being released. Social media teasers started rolling out, including with some help from Spotify.
A number of Twitch streamers were also hyping things up, waiting for the album to drop. The likes of Kai Cenat, ImDontai, and Dabo banded together to wait for it. Kai also had a direct line to the rapper, constantly asking for updates as they waited for it to go live.
He also hopped on a call with Kai and his pals to discuss the album, including working with streamers.
Playboy Carti makes streamers wait hours for new music
In that call, Carti’s infamous link-up with Adin Ross was brought up. At the time, the KICK star claimed the ‘Whole Lotta Red’ hitmaker got $2 million and a new Ferrari to appear on his stream. Carti was two hours late for it and left after five minutes too.
He revealed to Kai that it was awkward” as he and Adin didn’t mesh. However, he still wants to make more crossovers happen.
“Yeah, I got to because that Adin Ross s*it, I ain’t like that Adin Ross s*it bro. It wasn’t even supposed to be like that. I wish that s*it wasn’t like that,” Carti told Kai. “I don’t mean nothing negative, for real.”
It got onto Adin’s radar too. The KICK star quickly responded to a post about it with a laughing emoji. So, it could be something he discusses on a stream at some point in the near future.
At 7:23 am EST, after making the streamers wait for hours on end, Carti’s album finally dropped on Spotify. Despite it being so early in the morning in the United States, around 600,000 viewers were locked into different streams at that point, waiting for the initial reviews.
Kai quickly gave it an 8.8 out of 10 on his first listen-through but upgraded that to a nine out of 10 after a second listen.
The Twitch star also teased the idea of him and Carti linking up for a 24-hour long stream at some point too. Which, should be on the cards after the rapper made everyone wait that long for new music.
