Mexican rodeo queen and TikTok star Valeria Mireles, better known as ‘Miss Rodeo,’ died at age 20 following a fatal car crash.

At just 8 years old, Mireles began to develop a love for the rodeo, prompting her to compete in numerous events and producing viral content showing off her exploits on horseback.

Starting in 2020, she began uploading on TikTok to highlight her life as a cowgirl and amplified her posts on Instagram of riding horses and competing.

According to the New York Post, in 2021, the influencer emerged as a finalist at a national pole racing event and represented Mexico at the international level, competing in Wyoming.

Her passion earned her to two different titles: Miss Rodeo Nuevo León in 2020 and 2021 and Miss Rodeo Mexico in 2020 and 2022.

According to the TikToker’s family, on March 10, she died in a fatal car crash in the Mexican state of Nuevo León.

No other information has been provided and Mireles’ family asks that their “privacy be respected at this difficult time.”

Upon news of her death, tributes came pouring in across social media.

“I can’t believe it, this news left me in shock. Rest in peace Valeria,” one wrote on her final Instagram post.

“Sad news. Yesterday was good and today is gone. No one knows the day or the hour we will leave this plan of life. RIP,” mourned someone else.

“May you be riding in heaven,” another commented on TikTok.

One of Mireles’ friends, Cindy, posted a heartfelt message and remembered the good times they shared together.

“I lack words to describe how much your departure hurts us, you leave us a huge void,” she said. “I am grateful that God allowed me to grow up with you and share so many good times, so many laughs and anecdotes that I will carry with me always.”

The Mexican Rodeo Federation also offered their condolences on Facebook in a passionate tribute to the cowgirl.

“Her smile lit up every arena, and her passion for rodeo was contagious. Although her passing leaves a void, her legacy will live on in our hearts and in the memory of rodeo,” they said.

Mireles’ death comes as she was making strides in the influencer space, having amassed nearly 100K followers and had produced her most viral video in November, which eclipsed the 1M view mark.
