I Black Out in His Presence

"I Black Out in His Presence"

Lady Gaga hasn’t been shy about sharing her love for Nine Inch Nails while promoting her new album Mayhem. In a new interview with Howard Stern, the pop superstar admitted that she’s such a big fan that she blacks out every time she meets NIN mastermind Trent Reznor.

Previously, Gaga specifically cited NIN’s “Closer” as a big inspiration for Mayhem, and it’s not too difficult to hear that influence on the album’s single “Disease.”

During Lady Gaga’s appearance on Stern’s SiriusXM show on Tuesday morning (March 11th), the host played “Closer,” and asked the singer, “Why do we love this so much?” Gaga responded, “Because it’s so good!”

Stern asked Gaga if she ever met Reznor, and she replied, “Yeah.” The radio personality then wondered where she would meet the industrial legend, to which she answered, “I forget the first time. I think I black out every time I’m in his presence. … He’s an amazing musician.”

Pressed by Stern on whether she gets intimidated by Reznor, Gaga replied, “Not intimidated, just really excited, stoked, quiet.”

In addition to speaking with Stern, Gaga also performed acoustic versions of her new songs “Abracadabra” and “Perfect Celebrity.”

Lady Gaga, who was recently photographed wearing a NIN shirt (see below), is set to headline the Coachella festival taking place over two weekends in April (pick up tickets here).
