feeble little horse Release New Song "This Is Real": Stream

Pittsburgh indie rockers feeble little horse are back with their first single since 2023. “This Is Real” is out now and available to stream below. Along with the single’s drop, the band has announced a short string of concerts that will take them across the United Kingdom and Europe this June.

“This is Real” starts off as a mostly gentle guitar-led track, but like most of the band’s output, breaks down into a noisy, feedback-laden chorus, complete with frontwoman Lydia Slocum’s snarling vocals. Think of it like a cousin to their Girl With Fish song “Pocket.”

The band said the writing and recording process for “This is Real” differed from their past approach, stating that they’ve been working on it since they canceled their summer 2023 tour. “We wrote our past two albums with this indescribable urgency, and I think ‘This Is Real’ happened while the burner was turned to low,” Slocum said in a press statement.I wouldn’t say this track can function as a prophecy for what our sound will become for the next album, but it’s become something no other song will ever quite compare to.”

The band will make a short trek through Europe and the UK this June, making stops in Amsterdam, Dublin, and Paris, plus festival slots at Barcelona’s Primavera Sound and the UK’s Outbreak Festival.

feeble little horse’s second record, Girl With Fish, was released in 2023 via Saddle Creek. After listening to their new track, revisit Consequence’s track-by-track breakdown of the record.
