Kick streamer Adin Ross put Twitch on blast for keeping him permabanned while lifting Hasan’s suspension after just one day.
Back in 2023, Adin Ross was permabanned on Twitch after showing his unmoderated Kick chat on the Amazon-owned platform – something that has rubbed many, including Kick’s co-founders, the wrong way.
Meanwhile, Hasan sparked controversy in March over comments he made about US Senator Rick Scott. While Hasan was banned on Twitch, his suspension only lasted a single day.
On March 5, Adin Ross went live on Kick to address the drama and how he, along with many others, believed he might have been unbanned on Twitch and how he reached out to his closest streamer friends asking for support.
Adin Ross praises streamers who demanded he be unbanned
“We all felt the unban was coming,” he said. “I thought it was. I got banned for unmoderated chat for two years.”
According to Ross, his big reason for wanting to get back on Twitch comes down to “passion” and not being able to collab with creators who aren’t on Kick.
“Hasan got a one-day ban for wishing killing on a US senator. He got unbanned after one day. At this point, chat, like what the f**k? It’s crazy. I’m sorry, but it is crazy.”
Ross added that he woke up and saw xQc posting about Hasan being unbanned and this prompted him to reach out to the top creators on Twitch and only a few replied.
“The entire FaZe Clan, no hesitation. They all hit me up instantly. “To see these guys drop what they’re doing and pay attention to me for a second,” he revealed, praising the group for speaking out.
“I asked every f**king streamer,” he continued, adding that he doesn’t want anything free from anyone. “I asked really close friends and the only reason I’m putting this sh*t on air, I’m talking about those who really responded to me and listened to me. So, I’m publicly gonna say I f**k with you and I appreciate you, because you probably said ‘Free Adin’ and sh*t.”
However, Ross stated that a lot of people didn’t come to his defense, but was understanding in that some streamers might get backlash for supporting him.
“I’ve been f**ked up these last couple of weeks. I’ve been f**cked up, sad, going through thoughts and moments. I already have so much, but sometimes you focus on what you don’t have.”
It’s unclear if Twitch has any plans to eventually unban Adin, but the two-year ban has sparked criticism from many, including Kick co-founder Bijan Tehrani.
In response to Hasan’s swift unban, the Kick boss accused Twitch CEO Dan Clancy of “picking and choosing” who he wants on his platform while claiming Ross was banned to deliberately hurt Kick.
