Jon Stewart has agreed to Elon Musk’s terms for appearing on The Daily Show, putting the ball back in the controversial billionaire’s court to see whether he’ll follow through or bail like he did when it came to fighting Mark Zuckerberg.

Elon Musk, now entrenched in the United States government an an unelected decision maker, has become more relevant and controversial than ever as a result of his newfound role in American policy making, thus leading to a natural confrontation with Jon Stewart, who has been going after people like Elon for decades.

After some back and forth on social media in which Musk claimed he’d appear on The Daily Show if it’s aired “unedited,” Stewart responded to Musk on the Monday, March 3 episode of the long-running Comedy Central series, agreeing to his terms and adding that the interview can be however long Musk wants, perhaps in response to the fact that the richest man in the world recently sat down for a 3-hour-long podcast with Joe Rogan in which he called Social Security a “Ponzi scheme.”

“After thinking about his offer, I thought, ‘You know, hey, that’s actually how the in studio interviews normally air. Unedited.’ So, sure. We’d be delighted,” Stewart said.

“As a matter of fact, let me sweeten or unsweeten the pot. The interview can be 15 minutes, an hour, two hours, whatever. I’ll be honest, I don’t think this network makes any other programming. So we can do whatever the f– we want.”

Stewart also responded to Musk’s claims that he’s no longer as “bipartisan” as he used to be and is now a “propagandist.”

“You give me too little credit. Again, the guy who custom-made his own dark MAGA hat that he wears to opine in the Oval Office with the president who he spent $270 million to elect thinks I’m just too partisan. I’m really not sure what he thinks bipartisan means.”

As of Noon on Tuesday, March 4, despite his noted activity on X/Twitter, Musk has not responded to Stewart. You can check out Stewart’s full segment from the March 3 episode of The Daily Show below.
