Tommy Down delivers dreamy soul on new single ‘Do You Want It All?’
London-based multi-instrumentalist and producer Tommy Down has released his latest single, ‘Do You Want It All?,’ out now via Declo Grey.
‘Do You Want It All?’ is a dreamy, reverb-soaked offering that envelops listeners in airy guitars and existential musings. With its soul-stirring melodies and hazy atmosphere, the track invites comparisons to the contemporary psych-rock of Skinshape and Khruangbin while paying homage to Thom Yorke’s songwriting. The song’s lush instrumentation, highlighted by the ethereal guitar work of bandmate Tom Herzberg, creates a weightless, immersive experience that encourages reflection on material success and personal integrity.
Tommy shared:
“The song draws from some Radiohead tracks like ‘Creep’ but with a shoegazery spin to it. Mazzy Star is also an inspiration. The lyrics are about maintaining your soul and morals in your pursuit to gaining all your worldly possessions and acclaim. Managed to get a Bob Marley quote in there ‘Live for yourself and live in vain but live for others and you will live again.’”
With a 2025 EP on the horizon, promising a psychedelic rock and soul fusion inspired by Radiohead and Mitski, ‘Do You Want It All?’ marks the first glimpse into Tommy Down’s evolving sound.
