London-based DIY outfit Pynch returns with their latest single, ‘The Supermarket,’ marking their first new music since 2023.
Drawing from influences like Pavement, LCD Soundsystem, and The Flaming Lips, ‘The Supermarket’ blends slacker synth-pop with sharp observations about the mundane and the profound. The track serves as a reflection on craving normality after a turbulent year, encapsulating the feeling of emerging from chaos and choosing to embrace life.
Speaking on the new single, vocalist and guitarist Spencer Enock says:
“‘The Supermarket’ is sort of about craving normality and coming out the other side of a chaotic year. I guess it’s a hangover song about choosing life. It’s been one of our favourites since I first sent an acoustic voicenote of it over to the guys so we’re really excited for it to be out!”
Following the release, Pynch will take ‘The Supermarket’ on the road, with a string of tour dates that include appearances at The New Colossus Festival in New York this March, as well as stops in Paris, Toulouse, and Margate.
