Viagra Boys are back with their new song, “Uno II,” the second single from their upcoming album, viagr aboys. Stream it below.
“Uno II” was named after vocalist Sebastian Murphy’s Italian greyhound, who suffered through a year going back and forth to a vet due to dental issues. This inspired the singer to try and step into the dog’s shoes while writing the track. “He goes to this place, then wakes up in some weird room, and he’s missing his teeth,” Murphy said in a statement.
The track’s instrumental is structured around Tor Sjödén’s steady drumbeat, with sweeping guitars and Oskar Carls’ flute floating overtop, as Murphy expresses existential dread with lyrics like, “I seem like such a bitch/ When I talk about Swedish politics.”
“Uno II” arrives with a trippy music video co-directed by Murphy with André Jofré. In the surreal clip, Murphy plays a journalist sent to cover a seemingly ordinary dog show in Eastern Europe — only to run into shadowy figures along the way. Watch it below.
