It’s oh-so-easy to fall prey to the hype of a viral product that’s also visually compelling – especially when everyone’s talking about it on TikTok. In all honesty, I thought that might be the case with the Casetify Bounce Custom Suitcase ($399), which was immediately exciting because I got to personalize it to match my Casetify Custom iPhone Case ($38). All the cool kids are doing it! I thought to myself as I spent nearly an hour playing around on the brand’s digital customization platform, which is decidedly intuitive.

It’s no surprise Casetify has got this part down pat — the company has protected over 20 million devices worldwide since 2011 and operates over 50 retail locations globally. With its expansive list of high-profile collaborations, from Disney to Netflix, an accessible landing page for its latest collection is practically a given.

At this point, it’s no surprise the brand has ventured into travel with the same colorful sensibility and durability its products are known for. While there’s no denying purchasing one of these carry-ons will score you compliments at baggage claim, the real question is whether it’s truly functional, or just something bright to roll behind you.

Ahead, I deliver a full review of the luggage after using it for a three-day weekend away.

What I Like About the Casetify Bounce Carry-On Suitcase

Something that’s not necessarily obvious about the suitcase from looking at it is its sustainable traits. Casetify crafts its luggage on a made-to-order basis in order to minimize waste and has ensured that parts are easily replaceable to extend the product’s life. What’s more, it’s delivered in recyclable packaging. Of course, it’s easy to tell from my smile that I fan-girled over my creation big time, but I think that’s mostly because it was so easy to imagine on Casetify’s design platform. There were no hiccups or bugs, and there are plenty of style options to appeal to a wide range of tastes. For example, you can choose from the signature dot font with interactive letter-by-letter customization (this one offers 11 interchangeable font colors and six background colors) or the skyline font with a set of 11 colors ranging from neutrals to bold tones and pastels. I personally went for a slight twist on my phone case, which I already owned, so that the items would match.

The design of the suitcase is also impressive. Not all luggage companies provide customers with removable inserts and packing cubes built into the price! I also appreciate the security system that allows you to create a three-digit code that cannot be bypassed if you want to utilize the zipper. Finally, I can’t get over how smooth the wheels are. I’ve owned plenty of carry-ons and personal item bags, and this is hands down the easiest to transport from place to place.

What to Consider Before Buying the Casetify Bounce Carry-On Suitcase

If you do choose to keep the tech organizer zipped into the luggage, it does take away from your packing space and even eats into the depth of each compartment once you add items. While the construction is smooth, the pockets aren’t the deepest, most packable ones I’ve ever used. Typically, I use these vacuum storage bags for my clothes when I travel, but I couldn’t fit them into this carry-on side-by-side if I wanted to roll them. That being said, this suitcase is the perfect size for a three-day trip, but anything longer and I’d need to swap it out for a larger roller.

Where Is the Casetify Bounce Carry-On Suitcase Available?

The Casetify suitcase is available in North America and South Korea on the brand’s website, as well as at select retail locations, including the flagship store in Seoul.
