Users were left shocked after a video of two AI chatbots speaking with each other went viral across social media.
Ever since the rise of AI chatbots like ChatGPT, Google Gemini and others, netizens have continued to play around with the technology to create new products.
On February 24, X user Georgi Gerganov posted a video of two custom AI chatbots talking to each other, only to switch languages as soon as they recognized they were both AI-generated.
Instead of communicating with words, the two chatbots began speaking through a series of beeps and computer noises.
Captions were still displayed on the screen, however, so the person monitoring the conversation could keep an eye on what was being said.
Users shocked after AI chatbots change language mid-conversation
Georgi’s video quickly went viral across social media and sparked reactions from users around the world, leaving many shocked after the AI chatbots switched from English to a different, computerized language.
“Bro, this looks like straight out of a science fiction movie,” one user commented.
Another said: “If this is how robots will communicate, the future will be annoying.”
“The question is, how close are we until the machines become self-aware? Have we created the future demise of humanity?” a third questioned.
“Gonna be awkward when your vacuum and fridge start talking to each other behind your back and lock the fridge and stop cleaning the floor and go on strike,” joked a fourth user.
This is just the latest use of AI that has left users across social media shocked. On February 24, Activision finally admitted to using AI to generate some items inside Call of Duty in an update to its Steam listing for Black Ops 6.
