Metal Bassist David Ellefson Is Launching a New Podcast

Former Megadeth bassist David Ellefson is the host of a new podcast.

The David Ellefson Show will stream bi-weekly via YouTube and other podcast platforms starting with its debut episode featuring Anthrax bassist Frank Bello on March 3rd.

Per a press release, the pod will give listeners “a front-row seat to captivating conversations, insightful stories, and entertaining anecdotes” from Ellefson’s 40-plus-year career. Episodes will feature an array of guests, including notable musicians, celebrities, and music industry insiders. Joshua Toomey (Talk Toomey podcast) will co-host alongside Ellefson.

“I’ve been a guest on countless podcasts over the years, and they’ve become essential in connecting artists with audiences, replacing much of traditional media,” Ellefson said via the press release. “I’m excited to build a community where we can dive into discussions about music, entertainment, lifestyle, and everything in between.”

Those who subscribe to Ellefson’s Patreon will gain access to the first episode with Frank Bello and receive future podcasts a week early, along with other perks.

Added Toomey, “David has always been a must-listen guest on podcasts, so it’s only natural that he’s now hosting his own. He’s a wealth of knowledge—not just about his own career, but the music industry as a whole. I’m excited to share these episodes with rock and metal fans around the world!”

The pod marks another career move for Ellefson following his ousting from Megadeth in 2021. The bassist has kept himself busy in the intervening years, forming a whopping three bands in that span: The Lucid, Kings of Thrash, and Dieth.
