Nirvana Perform 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' With Post Malone For 'SNL50'

The surviving members of Nirvana teamed up with Post Malone for a performance of ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Saturday Night Live.

With Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear recently staging a a surprise reunion, the official footage captured the moment that took place last weekend.

Coming together for SNL 50: The Homecoming concert, an event celebrating 50 years of iconic musical moments with a live concert from New York’s Radio City Music Hall, the band were joined by Post Malone on vocals.

It’s no secret that Posty is a huge fan of the grunge legends, having teamed up with Travis Barker for a live-streamed set of Nirvana covers back in 2020.

Wearing a flowery dress throughout the set to pay tribute to Kurt Cobain, both Courtney Love and Krist Novoselic gave their seal of approval to the performance.

Last month, Nirvana recruited the voices of some of rock’s most iconic female vocalists – including St. Vincent, Kim Gordon and Joan Jettfor their surprise reunion.

Rounding out their set with an emotional rendition of ‘All Apologies’, they were also joined onstage by Violet Grohl – the 18-year-old daughter of Dave Grohl.
