Veteran meteorologist Aaron Brackett was about to give the weather forecast for KFOR News in Oklahoma City the other day when he spotted a UFO while live on the air. He would later discuss what he saw in a Facebook Live video, but even at that point he still had no idea what it was.

At around 9 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 14, Brackett can be seen looking at a monitor during the broadcast, giving the lead-in to the upcoming forecast, when his speech suddenly started to slow. The reason for that was the UFO that he spotted darting across the screen in the Oklahoma City sky.

As he slowed down his speech he moved over to the big screen to point out the UFO, saying, “Hmm. Wonder what that is right there? That’s… pretty interesting. Moving really fast. Okay, let’s go ahead and take a look at what we’ve got here. Just interesting stuff flying around the sky.”

Later that evening, Bracket, who has been practicing meteorology since at least 2008, according to his KFOR News profile, took to X (Twitter) and wrote, “OK SERIOUSLY, what did we just see here??? Oklahoma City – 50 Penn looking WNW at about 9:01PM Friday Feb 14. Object is moving VERY fast generally north to south!”

The next day, Aaron Brackett would take to Facebook Live to talk about the UFO he spotted while live on the air.

“Lot of attention to the mystery object that was flying through the sky last night,” he began the video.

He continued, “What was kind of going through my mind was, ‘that doesn’t look normal.’ … You can kind of hear me just slow down my talking as I’m looking at this thing that’s going through the sky.

“Now airplanes they go really slow. They’re either landing or taking off … This camera sees that. Take a look again at this object because it seems to go pretty fast. It also goes up and down. … I was looking at that, as you guys were at home, and I’m trying to figure out, is this something that’s abnormal, is this an airplane, is this a bug near the camera? Of course, it’s winter, we don’t really see much of that. What are we looking at here?!”

Good question.

Meanwhile, on the same day, KOCO News shared another report of a recent UFO sighting by someone in Oklahoma City.
